MUSEUM
FONDI: the Archaeological Museum "8 Ottobre 1877", is inside the baronial Castle of the city. It preserve about 400 objects coming from the excavations in the whole municipal land. Among them there is a sarcophagus found near the sea in the 1999. the museum is divided in many areas: the epigraphic and the statuesque ones, miles and votive columns. There is also a bas-relief of the sculptor Domenico Cagini, representing the “Madonna with the Child”.
TERRACINA: the Archeological Museum "Pio Capponi", is situated in the Historical Centre of the city, in its high part, at the first floor of the “Frumentaria Tower”, called of the Rosa family (room A) and a big back room (room B). the tower is composed by 6 floors, and besides the museum, there are the Cultural Office and the Historical Municipal archives. In the first room there are minor objects while in the room B there are the most important ones like statues, funeral epigraphic, sarcophagi and amphorae.
SPERLONGA: the Archeological National Museum is situated along the S.S.Flacca road, exiting from the city, towards Gaeta. Inside there are preserved more than 15.000 sculptural fragments found in the Tiberius’s Cave and from many zones of the town.
GAETA: the Museum of the city is a picture-gallery of the Annunziata Institute in the medieval part of the town. There are preserved many local pictures about the medieval and the late gothic age, renaissance and baroque ones, coming from the sacred institutes of the city.
FELICE CIRCEO: Exhibition Homo Sapiens and Habitat. It’s a permanent exhibition in the “Templari” tower (Historical Centre). There is a didactics exhibition about a rebuilt prehistoric habitat of the Circeo thanks to the lot of objects found in municipal area.
